What would you say about that sentence: „Early morning is actually the worst time when you should drink black coffee”. Sounds outrageous? But it also might be outrageously true.

1) Is Science Wrong?
You probably have read dozens of „backed by science” articles already. There are ten articles saying that and one hundred saying something else, yeah, that is true. I am also aware of „Scientific” articles out there. But this sentence rang a bell for me and I thought to myself „Who told us that morning coffee is the way to go? What if there is other way?”
2) Be aware of your cortizol level!
The reason that it might not be that great of a thing to drink coffee as a first thing in a morning is that it brings up your cortizol levels right away. That creates two problems: one – caffeine interferes with body’s natural production of cortizol and you end up dependant on that.
Other one is also really simple – the more coffee you drink, the more you need it.
Let’s say you went to bad really late and you need your morning boost right away. This might not solve your problem at all, you will need another one and than another one, and here we are – 5 coffee cups later, unable to go to sleep early AGAIN, loop continues.

3) Best time to drink coffee?
If you want to still enjoy your coffee the best time time to drink it is in between 10 a.m. and noon and between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m (but the earlier hours are more preferable here).
Remeber one thing – cup of coffee in the morning might be really enjoyable thing – but it’s really not in a long run, and also it’s quite ineffective 😉
