It’s not that easy to connect being a parent, maybe having a job (or a part time job), doing all the chores and at the same time waking up early EVERYDAY. To be more precise – sometimes it’s just impossible.
I know a lot of women, that are judging themselves about not being „The Perfect Mom” and not waking up early everyday and not keeping their promises. But listen – it’s not that you’re a bad person or something like that – it’s that life is not that simple as it sometimes seems in our minds.

1. Life is pretty random…
In your mind it’s like – ok, I will wake up at 6, then prepare a breakfast, then take a shower and at 6:30 I should be ready to go. But the reality is : it’s 4:13 in the morning and your child is starting to cry like crazy, because they start teething the same night you made that great decision about waking up earlier and your day is now all messed up and you have no idea what to do next.
Or your child will not want to go to bed up to 2 AM the night before and there is no freaking chance you can wake up in 6 in the morning without proper sleep.
2. “Having a child is like a fairytale” – they say
And this is the moment when the circle is created, and it works like that.
You told yourself, that you will wake up at 6 AM this morning
Your son decides to become a Spartian warrior and to scream „THIS IS SPARTA” at 3 AM
You do not wake up as early, you blame yourself for that and you try even harder next time
Your son is now a Captain America fan and he just wants to kill Thanos so he talks with his Avengers friends on Zoom till 2 AM (or otherwise the planet will be destroyed)
You are not able to function like a human anymore and you become a zombie.

It’s normal and it’s just called having a child. It’s just how life works. Yet – a lot of people, maybe you too, are blaming themselves for not doing everything they planned for that day all the time. They try and try and it never seems to work. And they start to think that something is wrong with them. But nothing is further from the truth and thinking like doesn’t help at all – it makes things even worse.

3. Being harsh with yourself is NOT an answer
You feel worse and worse about yourself, you think it’s all your fault and you are looking for ways to change yourself and your behaviuor – because obviously – you are doing something wrong here, right?
Wrong.
Give yourself a break, accept that having a child is not easy and that you cannot predict everything.
Do your best, because – that’s all you can do, right? What more you can do? Isn’t that crazy?
I hope that this article will make you go easy on yourself and it that this will make your waking up – if not early – at least more enjoyable.
Take care!
