Life over the past year and a half has become quite suffocating due to the pandemic and all the restrictions that have come with it. As this summer comes to an end, a fresh breathe of air and nature’s beauty is something anyone may need to revitalise. The U.K.’s hilly and mountainous landscape provides a perfect getaway for any evening escapade. Zip along the many alluring routes and peaks below to explore what adventure the U.K. has to offer!

1. Causeway Coast Way, County Antrim

Providing a cool sea breeze, the Causeway Coast Way in County Antrim provides breathtaking cliff scenery, known to be one of the most spectacular in Europe.  Historical basalt columns, which are rumoured to be made by ancient Irish giants, guide you on a stunning journey throughout many seaside towns.  This mystical trip ventures into causeways sprinkled with lichen, stiles and grassy cliffs, with a hint of salty aura. Checkout the peaks at sunset and sunrise to catch a glimpse of the sparkling morning dew and glistening ocean waves.

2. Scafell Pike, Lake District

Grasping the title as the tallest mountain in England at 977 metres high, Scafell Pike in the Lake District claims astonishing views by many routes all around. The mountain’s valleys and rocky terrain bear a clean and tranquil atmosphere with nature blossoming everywhere you look. The preserved forests yield many critters as well which may pop in for a cute surprise along your hike to the summit. The numerous trails are an ideal addition to a refreshing morning cup of coffee or tea.

3. Hadrian’s Wall Path, Northumberland and Cambria

Between 122 and 128 AD, Roman Emperor Hadrian built an extravagant stone wall spanning 73 miles across luscious countrysides in North England. Today, the wall path is an UNESCO World Heritage site yielding ancient remains of forts, settlements and museums, as well as enchanting views along the way.  Although the Romans are no more in England, their history contributes to a daring and exciting expedition.

4. The Quiraing, Isle of Skye

Unique is one word that would captivate the glory of The Quiraing in the Isle of Skye. Blessed with eccentric terrain and rock formations, the wild trip to the top is not worth missing. The 4-mile loop attracts geologists and photographers around the globe, yearning to capture the landscape’s one of a kind beauty. What more?
